Tell me if your rearend blew! Mine just did!
Big time.
I heard a clicking sound on Tuesday. Stopped by Honda on Thursday. Two People tested it. One service manager and one shop tech. Yup, they heard it --- did they know what it was? Nope.
I drove it today. 70 miles up to Lime Rock. Heard the clicking at very low speed (5-10mph) dissappeared at 15-40; but a whirring sound started to appear at 50 and seemed to disappear at 60.
The 70 miles back got more interesting (rather 50 miles back -later-). The whirring got louder at more varied speeds. I had to stop for milk at Marcus Dairy (it's great becuase on Saturday nights thruout the summer, it's car show night). Got off the ramp, stopped and went thru one stop light. Stopped at a second and started to take off, the whirring got very loud, then KABANG the rearend blew, horrible ginding sounds, smell of gear oil as I coasted into the parking lot. (At least it was moving.)
Called a flatbed, took the car and dropped it off at the Dealership. Now I can tell them what the "clicking" sound was if they haven't found out yet!!!
How many others have had their rearend go????

"Rearend" another word for differential. (The thing what's turns transverse rotation to parallel rotation.) ie. the thing that drives the rear wheels!!

To answer both of your questions.
1. Since this car sucks as a dragster, I never drop the clutch from a dead stop any higher than 3K.
2. 23,300
