Sputtering?
well, i don't know what else to suggest besides changing your topic description to read --> experts chime in .
sorry bud, we covered map sensor, ecu reset, clean air filter. i'm hoping the experts would cover icv, fuel, and whatever else they can think of.
good luck!

Had a car here last night for a once over. It had the same low idle/shudder/almost stall/idle return to normal.
It was not in to look at that particular problem, but a bunch of other stuff including a custom valve adjustment.
I did the VA, and also put a nice wad of dielectric silicone on the MAP sensor connector. Replaced the serp belt. Didn't change the oil, didn't touch the throttle cable. didn't touch the air filter. I did NOT reset the ECU.
It cured the problem completely. I'm leaning towards the VA resolving the issue at this point.
His intakes were about .010-.013. All set to .008.
Exhausts were .011-.013. All set to .010.
We even tried a few times on purpose to get the car to act up. The idle would not go below 1k.

Alright im gonna do that tomorrow. I set the valves about 6 months ago. Maybe something worked its way loose..... I dunno, im willing to try anything haha thanks for the info.
Ok, I set the valves again and it STILL stalls out on me. I have the Air Idle Control valve out of my car. The sensor on the back of it has two star bolts holding it on. Whats behind the sensor? On my 91 CRX there is a "plunger" behind this plate that needs to be screwed all the way in. Any help would be great, thanks.

do you see these plants in your room somewhere ?
