heres the story...

2000 @ 92,### miles

4 days ago, i was backing my car into the garage when it suddenly started sounding like a subaru. just last night i started my car to heat it up and it still sounded like a subaru. the engine was shaking and the cel light started blinking. i immediately turned it off and scanned it for codes. P0302 (misfire cyl #2) popped up. today i did a compression test: 215 215 215 210. I replaced the spark plugs to IFR7G-11KS (7746), reset the ecu and started it back up again. the subaru sound went away but not completely. at idle, it would sputter every 3-5 seconds. idle would jump from 1-1100rpm every 2-3 seconds.. i took it for a test drive but when i'm accelerating, only at low rpms at around 1-2.5k it would sputter like it's bogging down. after 2.5k rpm it would run and sound completely fine without the noise.

could anyone tell me what else could be the problem. i would like to have some experienced advice/input before spending money i don't have to fix the problem. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

 

You could try cleaning the IAC valve....helped mine.
