Squeaking noise when decelerating?!
Just two days ago I noticed my s2k has a squeaking problem which sounds like it's coming from the passenger side front. It squeaks when I am slowing down on neutral like right below 40mph and as the car slows down (with or without braking) so does the rate of the noise. It's like a mattress type of squeak. It seems like it only happens when I am on neutral or have the clutch in as I slow down because if I put it in gear the noise goes away even if im decelerating. Sounds like it's coming from the wheels but have anyone of yall gotten the same issue? thanks.
The only thing that comes to mind for me are engine mounts. With car in neutral the engine is free to vibrate, under a load the driveline (torsional) resistance may reduce how "loose" the engine sits on its mounts. Granted, this is a wild guess, but I can't think of too many things that would be affected by what you have described.
I had this problem one time and i know the sound came out of my rear driver wheel....The tech though it was a brake problem...but at the end it was the wheel bearing......That was only the begining of this year, and now i have another squeaking noise coming from either the front or the rear passenger side....not sure if it is another wheel bearing issue...and i have a 2000. not sure if it is the axle....
