What's the vin? I can look up the history. Maybe it was involved in an accident.

@jl56tc :
Not yet, I'll try to find it tonight

@S2000maniac:
The car went after a year driving in Japan directly to the UK.
The car is HPI clear, I have all documents, not involved in an accident

I would start by replacing the airbag module. just because you think that car has no accidents doesn't mean that's the case. could have blown the bags and then had them replaced but not the module. Also make sure you have a passenger side airbag and not just a cover.

The srs fuses are good.
If the airbag unit is broken, would it not drop a code between 5-1 and 8-6 ?

I have code 1-2

Is there a workshop- or servicemanual in pdf to download here somewhere?

Just wanted to add this so people know how to read the codes

Step 1: Make sure the key is not in the ignition and then get a paperclip and fold it into a U shape
Step 2
: Plug it into ODBII Service Port 4 and Port 9

Step 3: Insert key and turn ignition to Position II

Step 4: Watch the SRS and write down the codes. It will stay on for 6 seconds, then go off and the codes will then follow.

HOW TO READ CODES

HOW TO READ CODESEXAMPLE : 21-1 :: 21 is the main code, 1 is the subcode

To add some news...turns out you can read the SRS codes with an aftermarket ECU. My code was 1-2.

Ive either got a bad Driver's Airbag, bad cable reel or bad SRS unit.

But according to the manual, I need something called an SRS inflator simulator. Anybody have a workaround for that?
