SRS Light on
So to add to the many problems that I've had with the s2000 in my 7 months of ownership...
I drove to the store a couple days ago, no harsh bumps, dodged all the crappy potholes down here in san diego, and went inside and bought some stuff.
I came back outside, turned the car on, and about 10 feet later noticed my SRS light was on.
I went home, researched this light on here, and found no probable cause for its failure.
I have not touched the sensors, the seatbelts, or anything having to do with the SRS system.
The only thing that comes to mind is my battery died about 3 weeks ago.
I run a 200 watt basslink, 760 watt pioneer 2-channel for my front components, and a pioneer head unit (Dunno if this matters).
I tried to reset the SRS light in hopes it was a random fluke, but it came on again almost immediately.
I took it in to honda today to have the code read (I have a friend who works at honda) and he says my main SRS unit is malfunctioning. Any idea why a 2002 s2000 with 52k miles would have this part fail?
On another note, I replaced the window regulator and drivers side window motor a while back when they both decided to die, and today the auto down feature decided to break again. The calibration method does not work either.
Anybody know how much the SRS control box costs? I believe you have to remove the dash to replace it?
I need to get the SRS light off ASAP as I am selling the car. The s2000 was kinda fun to drive but I miss torque. This will be the last honda I'll ever buy seeing how I have poured thousands of dollars into fixing it after only 7 months of ownership. Every honda I have ever owned has had similar problems.
Sorry for the rant, just tired of putting money into a car I don't want anymore.
