Default SRS light wont go away!!

Ok...I posted a few months ago about my srs light being on. It cam on after I installed my supercharger. After the installation I started it up and the light was on. So I looked under the dash and noticed that I forgot to plug the harness back together after I hooked up the black box. So I plugged it back in and it did not shut off. I reset the ecu and it still didn't shut off. I checked the srs fuse (in the under dash fuse box), it was fine. I am a total loss as to what is trigering this damn light!! How can I get it to shut off?? What other factors could be making it turn on?? What else should I check?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you either cut your SRS harness or did something to the SRS controller.

The SRS harnes runs thru the middle console to the seatbelts in the rear and thru the dash to the 2 air bags. The tubing around the harnes is marked w/ yellow tape at the ends. They also have special yellow locking connectors. I'd check that harness out to make sure you have all your connectors on. It also gets it power near the ECU and grounds over there too.

The SRS controller is located under the stereo. You'll need to take your dash out to get that out.

Not sure what it is' but I would check all your connections.

ok cool. That should help a bit thanks! I installed my boost guage in my center console (cup holder), so maybe I jacked one of the connectors up when I had the stereo out or something. I will check it out ! Thanks!

FYI.

Be carefull when messing with volt meters on this harness.. The helms mentions Some volt meters can put a out a voltage on the line. If you put enuf power in to the right wire you can set off your air bags.

I can't imagine it's a very common thing, but just be careful
