starter problems after long drive times
My understanding is all modern cars require you press the clutch down to start it. I would suspect, in my ignorance, that there is something defective about the switch. Attempt to start the car with the clutch pedal down and let us know if it starts.
The switch presses when you push the clutch all the way in. It's near the pivot. See if someone has cut and spliced, or jumpered the connector to it to bypas the safety. Their joint may be loose.
Mine is Jap import, one of the first in the UK. I have to push clutch in to start.
