what is IAC?
This isn't an idle problem but a commonly reported symptom of the RPMs dipping to a low 300-400 RPM and then the car quickly recovers and resumes normal idle.

i read the step by steps and just want to make sure i have this right before i do it later today..
-remove clip to MAP sensor
-firmly (but not too firm) whack the sensor a couple (ten) times
- when placing back the clip to the snsor wiggle it around untill it firmly "clicks" back into place
-reset ECU

As to reseting the ECU, pull a 7.5A fuse labeled "Backup" in your drivers side footwell. Open your drivers door and stick your head up under the dash, look up and to the left of your clutch pedal. You'll see a fuse box with two rows of fuses. IIRC the backup fuse is on the row on the right, third fuse down. They should all be clearly labeled. Pull the Backup fuse for about 10 seconds, then put it back.
I've read various different things about the Idle relearn procedure. The shop manual recommends resetting the ECU and then starting the car and manually holding the RPMs at 3000 until you reach 3 bars on your temp gauge. Then you're supposed to let the car idle with NO ELECTRICAL LOAD. This means keep everything off, no A/C, no fans, no radio, no lights.
As a side note, yeah I'm harsh on people sometimes but I'm all for helping them as much as I can once they put in an equal effort on their end. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.
