To mention aswell, I have exchanged the TS sensor connector aswell. I didnt have any odd responses when playing with it , but I changed it out for good measure anyways.

I will be performing continuity checks on EPS module to interior wiring most likely , I also have a nicer harness to graft in at some point. I would feel alot better if the EPS worked being wired as factory as opposed to seemingly working correctly with TS inputs swapped.

The steering jerks hard enough when wired straight through now that it looked like I did a burn out in the garage when I moved it outside..

tehlonz, thanks for keeping us updated. I think the "new" TS you installed is still a bit of a wildcard here as we have no way of knowing for sure if it had issues with the prior owner, right? I've been living with this problem for 2 years now, and am still trying to decide on the best course of action.

This is true . However the fact that when the wiring is swapped and all is normal is weird to me . All the wiring checks out into the eps computer , so it's nothing that simple . Reading modifrys eps write up for how the signals are altered makes this even more confusing because it is assisting in the correct directions.

Seems logical, as the electric motor in the EPS is a moving part. More susceptible to wear and poor connections --- than and fixed solid-state module. At least, on the surface.

Turns out in my case , I've just been fighting myself.
When I made my extension harness for the EPS rack , I must've used both rack side ends of the wiring .

Looking through the service manual I noticed I was backwards terminals 1 & 2 of connector A of the EPS box , without thinking too far ahead , I made them straight through again . Same issue. In the end , the wiring from the EPS box to the steering rack turns into a cross over cable. Configured the wiring as the picture posted (shown at terminal side view), reset my TS wiring to its OEM config , and all is working..


I've also attached what my meter read while testing my Tach & VSS inputs to the EPS box 14P connector for reference to others.

Also would like to point out , in the service manual when testing the white/blk (vss) input on the eps 14P it never tells you to turn. Ign back on. Without the key turned you will never see 5v -0v .
