This may be a stupid question but here goes. What's the purpose of the divider inside the stock air box? What happens if we remove it so that it acts as one big (accumulator) air box? Any increase / decrease in performance? Any change in sound?

 

Firstly the divider helps to keep water out and some debris as well. What I did was not take out the divider, but used a 2 1/2" hole saw and drilled 2 holes. I also removed the intake piece on the top of the stock air box. I seemed to make some improvements and a very slight change in sound. I than added the Aus Intake. That mod made a major difference in both performance and sound. Good Luck!
