Default Stock Clutch Differences

Over the weekend someone asked about the various OE clutch part numbers and the differences. For the life of me, I can't find that post (yes, I tried search).

Here's what I was able to dig up:

-005 orginal part, linear spring force (torsion load vs. deflection in degrees)

-025 same as -005 except zinc coating on friction washer, supercedes all & replaces old stock (so you should never be able to buy a -005 anywhere)

-055 current part, all years supercede to this part (dealers & part centers to use old -025 stock first), updated the steel callout that is used for all the major pieces (I don't recognize the old steel callout so I can't comment on the reason) and it has a non-linear spring force (looks like it initally deflects/slips more before ramping up at a slightly sharper rate)

I am wondering about the differences as well, more specifically when each was introduced and why.....

Supposedly, -055 is supposed to get rid of the 'clutch buzz' described in TSB-054, saying 005 is potentially noisier during operation.

-025 is not listed in that particular TSB. So I'm figuring it came out before mid 2001.

Anybody know for sure?
