Ok,

I've owned my car for a couple months now, it's a 2004 Silverstone with 24,000 km's on it. I've only noticed this issue twice, and i've done my searches regarding it. The car is STOCK.

The car, feels as though it is only running off of 2 or 3 cylinders. It is NOT stuttering, it just feels like a loss of power (not sudden either). When VTEC engages, I can hear the transition, but the increase in power is minimal. It also has a bit of a hard time starting in 1st gear. The throttle response is not there. It's bogging.

I have done the MAP sensor whack. Didn't come back for about 3 weeks after the first time. Then TONIGHT, immediately after I filled up the fuel tank (94 octane), it is bogging again. I pulled over, turned off the car for 10 minutes. Fired her back up and she is OK now and back to life.

Any insight guys? Seems as though it could be a fuel pump issue as it came back after I filled up the tank?

UPDATE FOR THOSE WHO SEARCH THIS SUBJECT IN THE FUTURE:

I replaced my PCV valve, cleaned my intake filter, replaced my spark plugs, and this issue has not come back

I figured it just needed a nice tune-up

Also I should note, I live in Vancouver Canada. This is NOT HEAT BOG!! It did not occur in stop and go traffic, and it's only 5 - 15 degrees outside.

Sounds like it could be a the valve in the fuel tank. Forget what its called at the moment... Celicas had the problem, you'd fill them up then they wouldnt start or they would start and run poorly. It could also be one of your evaporator valves for the tank as well. Has to be fuel related IMO.

NP man, I saw there was a TSB for one of the evaporator purge valves, not sure on the years.

since the MAP wack seems to cure the problem......I'd try cleaning the plug that goes into the MAP sensor. You shouldn't need the Zip Tie mod, b/c it should be the updated clip or whatever was updated. (you could look into that)

You could try clearing the ECU - pull the back up fuse for 3-5 mins...(some do it less what's another few minutes to be sure)

All else fails you could try cleaning the IAC valve. it is an 04 but it still may could benefit from it.

Is your air filter dirty? Are your fuel injectors/throttle body dirty? Do your spark plugs need replaced? Does your PCV valve need replaced?
These are all easy things to do that will keep your car tuned to a high level, and you will notice a difference in performance.
