@ Avionics - I do a lot of circuit work and frequently visit nurburgring so the 10w 30 just doesn't cut the mustard, the 5w 40 fully syn offers me better cold start lubrication (where most ware occurs) and better protection at higher engine temperatures which my particular engine will see, not compariable for everyone.
Yes we all want the least possible viscous drag from engine oil but for the extra protection it will offer me it's well worth it, hell I may even go for a 50 weight pending results.

Monky...definitely start with the TCT. But if that doesn't solve the issue, then post back up. There is another issue that is starting to pop up more frequently that has a very similar sound.

A loose timing chain sprocket can make a rattle that sounds very close to a TCT. What we've been seeing are sprockets that weren't bolted down correctly after the head has been off the car.
