Strange Rattle After Warm Start
Hi Everyone!
Just purchased my first 2002 Honda S2000 in pristine condition. It runs great - no slipping gears or transmission issues, no oil consumption, and the compression @ 100,000 miles is almost stock.
However, I have one issue. When I start the car when it's cold, it starts up just fine with no noise. However, if I come to start the car after letting it sit for a few minutes after driving it (so it is warm) I hear a medium clicking noise that slowly dies out after about 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, the noise is gone and I don't hear anything when revving the engine in neutral up and back down again. The clicking noise only happens when I start it from a warm condition, and only for the first few seconds. It almost sounds like something may just be rattling under the hood, but I can't figure it out for the life of me. My best guess is that the sound is coming from the front of the engine.
It sounds exactly like this, just not as loud and my noise goes away > 20 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7gal...eature=related
Any ideas, or is it probably the TCT?
