Strange situation- slipping clutch
Hey guys. I have had my share of worn out clutches through out the cars I've owned, but I can't figure this one out...
My clutch has about 15,000 miles on it and is all OEM parts. It can handle a load at any rpm just fine, and also I can dump it and it holds just fine. However, it has been slipping recently when I shift too fast. And not the normal "S2000 slipping" that eventually grabs in a second and goes. When it slips it will stay @ redline. Of course I let off instantly. Now if I shift nice and slow, it will hold just fine. The slave and clutch master cylinder seem to be fine and it has plenty of fluid... The only thing I can think of is possibly the input shaft seal may be leaking inside there and spattering some fluid onto the disc at high rpms? The transmission has 81,000 miles on it, but I can't detect any leaks anywhere. Also, Ive tried adjusting the throw of the clutch pedal slightly, and it does not seem to help. This one has me stumped...

Well if I needed a new disc I'm pretty sure it would be slipping all of the time. I'm going to mess with the system today and replace the slave and master cylinders.

I had the same issue with mine. It happend at around 8k miles. The strange thing is after that happend I began to get a jitter sensation when I got off the clutch while taking off on hills. I checked out the internals including the pressure plate and whatnot as well as all the fluids and everything is fine...
