Default Stripped clutch master cylinder line bolt

I noticed that my clutch master cylinder is leaking to inside of the car telling me it needs replacing. After draining the clutch fluid I went to remove the blot attaching the clutch line to the master cylinder and the blot head started to strip with minimal effort. I used a 10mm standard wrench and made sure it was secured well. I could always take some pliers and destroy the bolt in the process but looks like I would have to replace the entire line. Any suggestions?

I have nuts on the master as 12mm. Other lines are 10mm or 12mm. I use a flared nut end wrench.

Crescent flared nut end wrench. Crescent flared nut end wrench.

Can be saved. Use the right tool. Also change your fluid it should stop leaking, a large percentage of masters leak as per the guru

i've ruined the thread on it before, the line is replaceable without much fuss. but like other's have mentioned, get a good flared nut wrench or borrow a snap-on 10mm one and get it flush. use pb blaster or thread chaser of choice overnight before hand.

That's a rounded head, threads are still good. A line wrench is essential to this job.

Dirty fluid causes leaks. Replacing with clean will resolve leak over time.

Dirty fluid causes deposits on shaft, which are uneven. This unevenness sliding in and out of shaft seal is where leaks come from.

Fresh fluid will start to remove these deposits. But it'll take time. Leak will get better and better.

Initially do a full fluid swap, gravity bleed.

Then do a fluid swap of reservoir at each oil change (turkey baster reservoir, clean with lint free paper towel. Replace with fresh.) Once leak goes away, reservoir swap every other oil change.

Fluid in reservoir gets mixed with fluid in lines at every clutch press. So swapping just the reservoir does a decent job of keeping whole system clean.
