diesel ignites at a much higher compression than gasoline engines. there should not have been any detonation.
exactly

at the very least you will need a good cleaning of the fuel system. Diesel fuel tends to gum up gas engine injectors. All in all you shouldn't really have any lasting damage. As others said your cat might be damaged.

Injectors
fuel pump? I doubt it
Change your oil
flush everything out

good to go...

I thought the nozzle diameter of diesel IS bigger than unleaded? Ie. You can put unleaded into a diesel car, but not diesel into an unleaded car.

Check engine light???

Diesel will not run in a gasoline engine. Mixing Diesel and gas won't have you running long enough to damage a catalytic convertor. Diesel Compression ratio's are almost 2x that of a gasoline engine. 20:1 is not uncommon, compared to a typical 9:1 for a gasoline engine. Diesels run by detonation, the heat generated by compression causes the fuel to burn. there is no ignition system.

The spark plugs will be fouled with unburned fuel. The injectors could be fine, but most shops replace them as a precautionary measure.

Did you force the diesel pump into your "hole?" It's usually bigger in diameter so this would not happen. Not sure where you are from, but that's how it is in SoCal.
