Subframe Damage and Knowledge Needed

Replace your tires or don't drive it. This was just getting on the interstate in a straight line and it walked out from under me.
As everyone else has said, I would replace the subframe. It's probably bent out of shape now, and that piece is stamped and looses a great deal of its strength once it gets twisted.

Well then he should get the new rims and tires and not drive the car til he does. Either way don't belittle the importance of having tread on your tires. Tires are the 4 patches that connect you with the ground and are more important than pretty much anything else on the car being that in any sort of wet conditions his vehicle turns into a 2600 lb unguided missile. If you don't understand that yet I'm not sure what else to tell ya, there are posts on here weekly about people with bald tires wrecking their cars.
