Default sudden loss of acceleration

Okay. I was driving 25 mph turning into the onramp for the freeway. I go into third. Then I go into Vtec. When I am about to shift to 4th, I lose power to my engine. My dash is still on, but when I would tried to start it, it would cough and my lights would dim. I got no check engine light, the car had plenty of oil and coolant. The drivetrain fluids were changed 6 months ago Transmission to amsoil. The oil was changed last month. No leaks, no rain. The head was redone 20K ago with Supertech valves, and I believe SOS retainers and Springs. No metal flakes in the oil. The 3rd spark plug was a pain to get out. The mech manually can crank it. So what could it be? We checked the.battery and alternator and.they are good.

I would also add that when he ran for codes, it came back clean.

UPDATE: The mech took the oil pan out and saw metal flakes in it. He said cylinder 3 has damage and they dont know if my original engine can be saved. They are going to take it apart and see the extent of the damage and where to go from here.

So Given the symptoms, what do you think caused the failure on Cylinder 3?

I think your spark plugs were improperly tightened. The number 3 backed out, torching the cylinder and the spark plug threads. Explains the difficult to remove #3 plug.

^^That...more than likly your culprit there. Can you recall who/when the spark plugs were changed?

Well, this was done a while ago. About 3-4 years ago. I won't say who because this is a forum and I don't know exactly what happened. Billman's process makes sense. And now that I think of it, I also would like to add that when I would disengage (put the car in neutral) from any gear, my RPMS would occasionally would go down to 1500-2000RPM and hover for 1-2 seconds before going all the way down. It had been doing this for about 1 month. I just hope my block can be saved. I want to keep the 2.0 with this car. I truly wish Honda would have continued making this engine. I would've picked one up the day after my grim diagnosis. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress and updates.
