Past tense, Wes? You got me nervous now. You're not going Insight all the way are you?

Reliability was also my main concern which is why i was so impressed with this kit. With the aftercooler and oil cooler already included in the kit, that gave me a lot more confidence in their product. It also comes with all the fuel AND electronic upgrades as well. If you add it up, its about 2 grand worth more of stuff for nothing. All of those components were added for one thing, reliability effeciency.

In regards to invasiveness, well, i guess it depends on what you consider invasive. Vortech estimates a trained mechanic to be able to complete the job in 6 - 8 hours. Thats pretty dam straight forward to me. I believe Comptech's times are pretty much the same minus the oil cooler (that takes maybe 45 mins) I ll be installing this kit myself with the help of my best friend in my garage. I will be doing a before and after dyno and one final one with the addition of a VAFC for everyone to see the true numbers.

What are the specs on the vortech? How much HP gain do you get? How much boost is it up to?

vortech claims 108 hp and 61 lb/ft of torque peak @ 7-8 psi of boost. that would give final numbers on a stock S to be about 348hp and 214 lb/ft or torque at the crank. not bad

Here's the complete installation manual. It should tell you everything that's included.
