Supercharger to turbo question
Hello,
Im looking to take off my Comptech supercharger and put in a UR turbo kit. Im going to keep the Comptech upgraded fuel pump and Im wondering how this will effect the turbo kit. The kit comes with upgraded injectors so Im wondering if it will dump a lot of fuel into the engine and run very rich. Anybody have any ideas on this?
Thanks

Its all about the tuning. If you're running UR setup, they preprogram the emanage already. You should get it retuned anyways.
My advice is to go with AEM EMS and you won't have to worry too much about it.

Reignman, the upgraded fuel pump will work fine. Any "extra" fuel that the car doesn't need is returned to the gas tank. The eManage will give you more than enough control to tune the car.
Thanks guys! I think I will stick with the E-Manage for now since Im not boosting over 6-7psi. I also ordered a wideband O2 unit so I can keep my A/F ratio in a safe range while driving. In the future when I have the time and money I can switch over to the AEM EMS.

BTW Wesmaster. Didnt you have the Greddy Profec e-01? Did it work well tuning the E-Manage and is it worth getting for $500?

Yeah I may invest in the Profec once I save up some money again.
Does the E-Manage unit allow you to adjust timing? Also how many points do you have to adjust fuel along the RPM range with the E-Manage?

Ultimate Racing has supposedly figured out how to setup the eManage to work with the S2000 coil packs to control ignition timing with the eManage. However, they will not tell anyone, except for their customers who buy the ignition harness, what the secret is.
The eManage works on 16x16 maps. Depending on your setup, you will either use the Air Flow Adjustment map or the Additional Injection map. The Air Flow Adjustment map would be used if you have a 12:1 FMU that requires you to remove fuel from the system. This map works off of Throttle Position and RPM. So, since it's a true map, you can tune from 0% throttle to 100% throttle at all the RPM ranges. That's the lesser way, though. The best way is to wire in the injector harness (sold seperately), get some injectors, get rid of the FMU, and use the Additional Injection map which adds a pulse to the injectors to get more fuel. The eManage will be tricking the MAP sensor to make the larger injectors work...but it won't be as dramatic as with a 12:1 FMU, so you won't be changing your timing so dramatically. The Additional Injection map allows you to tune based on PSI and RPM. This is much better. The Profec e-01 comes with a Greddy pressure sensor. This pressure sensor can be hooked into the eManage so that you can tune the car based on true PSI, not just what your Honda map sensor (with missing link attached) returns. This is the way to go. I'm currently in the progress of converting my car to this setup. We stopped when we heard about the UR breakthrough, and are trying to figure out the secret jumper settings ourselves...since UR will not share with us. I'm going to wait for the ignition control to be figured out before tuning the car on he injectors.

Im getting the UR turbo kit so if I order the ignition harness from them I guess I will be able to control timing. If this is true then I should get the injector harness also and tune based on psi and retard timing.
