What exactly is involved with swapping a 2003 ECU into a 2000 S2000?
Is it simply disconnecting one for another and having the original keys reprogrammed to work with the 2003 ECU? Is there a specific wiring harness for the new ECU.
I haven't come across a DIY topic for this subject, just threads that say it can be done.

 

It will plug right in.

Try to get an original key with the ECU. It will save you from having to bring the car to the dealer for key re-writing.

 

is there any benefit for doing this? i have an 01 so would i gain anything from any ECU upgrade??

Also, is having my ECU reprogrammed for performance something that is worth the money?? My 01 is pretty much stock.

 

Seems the 02-03 ecu is a leaner mixture and will give a few HP.

 

ah ha... so maybe i should try to get my hands on one of these...
