Default switch to syntetic? 100k on ap1

Ok so I just bought an AP1 with 99k on it. The original owner said he's been putting conventional oil in the car. In my lude, i've always put mobil 1 synthetic. Should I even bother to make the switch to synthetic on this car? or just stick with conventional?

Also what type of oil does this car take and how many quarts? Thanks.

how much oil does the engine use? if it's more than about one quart for every 3,000 miles, I wouldn't bother switching

if it were me i would put in synthetic. however the more important thing is whether or not the previous owner did religous oil changes rather than worrying about what kind of oil imo. I would put in synthetic and go from there and see if your happy with it. Chances are, any damage is already done after 100k so its not like using synthetic is going to give you any huge benefit.

You should be using a fully synthetic oil.

From the moment the engine is run in, till the day it blows up - Fully Synthetic.

And whilst the service manual says 5.1 quarts (4.8 litres), you will need nearer 6 quarts if you drain the engine fully.
