I run 10W30 in Florida.. don't see a need for 5w30 in florida.

at 75 degrees in the morning in Florida even 0w oil is too thick on startup but it's the best we have so far.

I wouldn't wait a year to change your oil. Overtime the additives in the oil tend to wear down and sludge up the oil. And when you let your car sit in the garage for a long period of time I've heard that you're suppose to drain out the oil until you plan on using the car again.

Just get an UOA done to confirm the condition of the oil and base your OCI on that..

UBetit: never had a problem shown on UOA's with 10W30 here.. oh well.

You obviously didn't read my link above. Almost 15 months with a TBN of 6.2 remaining, and that's with over 12,000 miles.
