Taking out helper spring?
I have Tein RS coilovers and was wondering what would happen if you took out the helper springs? Would performance be compromised? Would the car be able to drop even lower? Thanks.
I don't know about the Tein RS specifically, but in general the "Tender" springs are there to keep the main spring from dropping out of the cups when the suspension is extended. They are a relatively low spring rate and should be pretty much blocked-up with the weight of the car alone so it shouldn't matter to performance. Why would you want to pull them? Are you not able to lower the car enough w/ the perches and/or mounts?
I'd be scared the springs would come out of the cup ...... unless you adjusted the preload high enough to keep the springs seated......but then the car wouldn't be low enough again.
I don't know, I'd be scared ...... you sure you can't go lower on either the preload or the ride height adjustment? The RS's do both don't they?
