Default TCT and Valvetrain noise

I started getting the infamous ticking sound that would appear mostly at idle. I switched up the TCT unit and filled it up with Mobil1. The sound seems like it went away only to come back a few days later. The sound is more pronounced at some times than others ( at the same rpm). The car has 51k miles on it and I'm not sure where to go from here. The idle/motor/compression test are great but the sound is pretty annoying. It is not audible at all with windows up. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

my ap2 has been noisy since i bought it at 17k miles, i changed the tct at 42k and the noises came back after a few days. Its not the valves, i adjusted them at 45k and the noise was still the same, i changed to thinner oil and it still sounds the same, but it does sound like a chane slapping.

why would thinner oil mask the sound...i believe thicker oil would mask the sound, but even still it is just a mask.
