Sooo this weekend when I got around to do my valve adjustment, I realized my chain sprocket was installed 180deg. If you look at the pics the cam gear top dead center (TDC) marks don't line up with the chain sprocket TDC marks. They're off by 180deg. If I bring the chain sprocket marks level with the cylinder head the cam gears are at bottom dead center. I think the chain sprocket was installed 180deg. I can tell the cam gears are installed correctly because the TDC marks match up with the lobes pointing in the 11 and 1 o clock direction and contact off the rocker assembly; it also lines up with the TDC mark on the crank pulley.
My question is, is this okay? I'm assuming this was installed backwards when I got my dual valve springs and retainers installed 5-7 years ago. I had two different shops do my valve adjustments since then and not one shop has brought this to my attention. Been running strong put on over 20k miles and made 515whp...weird!
alright so one of my tuners said maybe i needed to crank the motor over one more cycle to get it all to line up. But i swear i rotated the crank to TDC at least 3 times yielding the same result every time...
