Temperature gauge values?

Both coolant and oil temps are important. But what cools and lubricates the critical internal engine parts is the oil. Once engine oil reaches a certain temp, it can become very ineffective and start to burn, sludge and coke...not good! Think of a cooking oil or butter in a frying pan as you heat it up.
