if your using hea shields, make sure the bolts are all tight. Otherwise, the tin can sound your hearing is the bolts rattling on the heat sheilds.

It doesn't have a heat shield.

The tin can / Raspy sound is d/t the ^ exhaust flow, and how rapid changes in that flow that can occur, ie when shifting.

in my 02 s2k same tp, it made a hollow sound like a G35/350Z however the same testpipe on my 06 has a tin can sound like air is resonating against a metal tube. I heard that if you change out the tip it can change the way things sound but not sure. Are there any difference between the AP1 exhaust vs the AP2 exhaust as fall as diameter?

i saw this video awhile back of the berk tp. i thought this was how a test pipe was supposed to sound. i don't understand how one test pipe would sound like a tin can and the other would sound good, but i'm starting to read a lot of mixed reviews.

you can here the tin can sound from that vid. however it's not a good example, you must be in the car driving it or have the mic at the side of the car near the tp.

My experience with a berk tp and the stock 05 exhaust sounded exactly like that video. Loved it. Sounds a little less hollow after maybe 600 miles.

Aftermarket exhaust is the solution.

(preferably HKS)
