Is there a correct way to lower a S2000.
I have been thinking of upgrading the suspension on my S for the few track days a year that I go to. Everything out there seems to have adjustable height for show, or a 1 to 2 inch drop with springs. Is there any way to lower the car approx 1 1/2 inches while still improving on the handling in some way. I have heard horror storys about upsetting the car with a lowering springs and would like to avoid it if possible. If not do they make a progressive rate spring for our cars that will prevent bottoming out and other maladies.

I like the koni shocks I have set on my porsche and they have held up very well. All the coilovers I have seen seem to be more look oriented then anything else. I will look into getting springs and the shocks though. Any clue on a good manufactor.

if you lower the car, i'd recommend that you do an alignment job - perhaps you can play with the camber/toe-in and find out what effect they have on the lowered S2K.

If I lower the car the camber settings are a must. Do you know if there is enough adjustment rooom with the stock setup to return to stock if I lower the car. I have a nice setup that I use right now thats just a little off stock and would like to keep it that way.
Mingster do you have springs in stock for a 1 1/2 inch lower, or even better a decent set of coilovers.

Whats the correct camber setting to retain some sort of stock handling characteristics for a lowered car?
Is there a formula?
I am currecntly on order for a set opf HKS Springs F:-27mm R:-29mm
My shocks for now remain the same...won't replace it till i break it!

I went to the sema show at vegas, tein (suspension) was there. My dad has an S2000 and I read in SCC that lowering it would cause alignment problems in the rear, I asked the dude at the booth (japanese, hard to understand his engrish) if this is the case, he said they do not know of any problems right now and it is probably just incorrect dampening settings since alot of people are were lowering with the stock shocks at the time. My point being, I have tein type ha on my 98 2.5RS and love them, I lowered the car and have tuned my dampening settings. I would recommend tein type RA for the S2000, they are all aluminum, have full height, rebound and dampening (seperately) adjustability and are 45mm dampeners. I think they would be your best bet.
