Run a search for a Mobil1 filter for an S2000, you'll find a part#.
Now run a search for an .. Accord V6, Odyssey.. chances are you'll find the same part#
This is what I did a while back on the Mobil1 website until I could not use the search function anymore.
I found they recommend the same filter for at least 3 other Honda's.
Who knows what other makes / types.

What I like about the OEM filter is that Honda specifies it for the S2000 alone, not any other Honda or any other engine.
It looks like Filtech started as a Toyo Roki production plant.
The Filltech 15400-PCX-004 is well build and it's well documented too.

It will be fine. I had a K&N oil filter on my s2000 for 3000 miles, and I dont see it any different than the OEM one thats on my car now.

I bought two K&N oil filters for my Tundra a few years back. I had very high hopes for this filter, but the ADBV's failed within 1000 miles on both. I went back to the PureOne filters. They have the most reliable ADBV's of the filters I've tried so far.

I prefer and use commercial oil filters like Baldwin B7042 and Fleetguard LF3369 oil filters. These are big filters(3 11/16" X 5 3/8') they fit my stock '06 just fine. I do have to use more than 5 qts of oil because of how big the oil filters are. I drove truck for 25+ years and if you ever see how well made these filters are compared to the stuff you get at pepboys you won't go back.

lol, you are the most sarcastic person on the internets, and I love it :kisses:

In regards to the Clarcor filters (Hastings, Baldwin, etc.), I know for a fact that some are made by Fram. I've never had my hand on a Hasting/Baldwin S2000 filter and don't know if that is the case for this particular application. Also, you should pay particular attention to the relief valve pressures for these filters, as the bypass pressures much lower than what you'll find in the original equipment, 8 psi vs. ~15 psi. Not good for a vehicle running such high oil pressures.

Food for thought.

This filter looks identical to the Toyo Roki-made JDM filter at first glance- externally the same construction, the only indicator is the "FILTECH" stamped on the outside (a large US manufacturer of filters under various brand names). Internally it's *almost* identical to the JDM filter- steel end caps, steel bypass valve. What makes it stand out as different is the radically different filter media. The material on the Japanese filter looked like the STP or Bosch units. The US media looks much, much worse than the Fram. The media is noticeably "fuzzy" with small fibers protruding out from every angle. While the filter itself is constructed very well (like the Japanese one), the furry nature of the media makes me question how long it lasts and what it will release into the oil system. It also has the least surface area of all the Honda filters (though only a few inches less than the Canadian one).
I have never taken apart a Filtech, but this is why I avoid them. Where is it documented to be well-built?

The S2000 sized filter is available in any brand at any auto parts store, and listed in the part# catalog in the filter aisle. The PureOne I use has the same dimensions as PCX-004.

Please, show me were Fram makes some of Baldwins filters.
Fram does not even make a filter in this size(B7042).
You don't sell to farmers and heavy equipment operators where the engines can cost over $250,000 and sell them a Fram filter, get real. Go look at the OTR trucks and see what they run for filters, Fleetgaurd and Baldwin are the two most filters used.
My old diesel(2000 KW) ran more oil pressure than the Honda will ever see.
BPV Setting on the Fleetgaurd is set at 10 psi
BPV Setting on the Baldwin is set at 14 psi
I run the Baldwin because I want a little more oil going through the filter before it goes into bypass mode and I get unfiltered oil going to my engine.

For the people that think that the Honda filter is best, by all means use them it won't hurt a thing.
If Honda parts are so good then why even have this forum for the use of aftermarket parts.

I agree about Honda filters.

But about Frahm, check this out.
