Default Throttle body bored

How many of you have had your throttle body bored without any other mods?

What diameter did you have it bored too and why?

I started out with a Proflow throttle body. It's slightly larger than stock. It does require opening up the intake manifold.

Recently I added a BDL 70mm. That requires major work on the intake manifold including welding.

The throttle body makes no major difference inless you are boosted.

The Portflow is 64mm.

I'll do a write up on the BDL in a week or two.

If you have a header and exhaust and some form of engine management(i.e. aem, emanage) then the throttle body will make a big difference. It's not just for boosted applications.

Even though I am having my IM ported to 70MM, I am still running a 70mm TB. One thing it will do is increase throttle response. Even after I have the IM ported I don't think any significant HP gain will be recocgnized. I am guessing 2 possibly 3 as long as there is some form of an intake and a something like a K&N filter.

The throttle response is because your letting in alot more air with the same throttle as before, your basically stepping on the gas more, without stepping on the gas more. If you tune you should be able to find more than 2 or 3 hp. You dont need an intake. Just an AFE filter for the stock airbox. I wouldn't put a K&N, alot more air, with the price of alot more dirt too.
