Default Throttle Body Spacer - how do they work.

Just was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on how a TB spacer works - in theory. I installed one on my Expedition and noticed a difference in response ... just wondering if this type of spacer (1 inch) would benefit the S.

Thanks

It does two things:

1.) Depending on material, it serves as a heat "blocker." Very similar to the Hondata Intake Manifold gasket

2.) Also serves as to increase intake runner length, changing the torque characteristics of the engine... longer the runner gives you better torque but less horsepower.

I think you would be better off spending your money on a Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket. A throttle body spacer probably won't do that much.

The S2000 already has really long runners, when compared to V8's.

Thanks for input ... I mainly installed it for better towing. It appears it should help in this area.
