Default Another AP1 Engine Noise Post

Hey guys/gals. I had an engine rattle about a month ago and got a billman tct. Figured mine went out so I replaced it. The noise went away for a week or so and then came back. I was told that it was the timing chain, but didn't want to replace it right away since it is a rather costly job. The car is stock aside from an AEM intake. It also has 84k miles if that helps with anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached two videos of the noise.

Sounds like TCT noise, replace your TCT, get a valve adjustment, check your oil, and clean that engine bay

I doubt billmans tct would go out within a month (could be wrong). I'll get a valve adjustment. I changed the oil yesterday and monitor the level weekly. Yea excuse the engine bay. I bought the car a few months ago and I've been more concerned with getting it running right first

This is the sound after the tensioner was replaced? Something might be wrong with the reinstallation. Have you email'ed Billman?

I havent been able to try one of Billmans tensioners but last year when I had to replace the main bearings, the timing chain gears were very worn away from the previous owner driving the car with a rattling tensioner. I replaced it with a new one and the noise came back in a few thousand miles but during the rebuild I replaced the timing gears and re used the new tensioner and I havent heard a noise since.

Could be his timing gears are to worn?

Yeah, timing gears were worn. Like motorcycles, usually best to replace chain and gears --- when one or the other is worn out.

The tct is not bad, but can surely go out of range. I have a tct for special circumstances, just pm me.

Main question, has the cylinder head been milled, and is the head gasket oem?
