Default time to rebuild?

ok i have a knocking sound coming from my bottom end, it sounds like a rod knocking, it only happens around 3000 rpm`s and only when the car is warm.. its not really loud but you can definately hear it when accelerating
so now i am thinking hat i need to do a rebuild.

you guys are more experienced with this topic so my question is what would you recommend,

fixing the rod knock or change the bottom end to a 22 and what are the pros/con of both ideas

thanks guys

I wouldn't rush into a rebuild until you find whats causing that knock. It would be hard to diagnose without listening to it.

A guy here had a knock. Turned out he had dropped something down behind the engine and it was banging on the transmission tunnel.

I just hope you can be as lucky.

Could this be the TCT issue others have had?

I think you need to take it to someone who can diagnose sounds. So many things in our engines can make a clunk or clank. TCT is a pretty specific sound, and it repeats much faster than the engine is rotating.

ok guys i droped the oil pan today and siting in my oilpan was my thrust washers, everything else seems good , all the rods seems fine, but the rear thrust washer is worn really bad, i think this is a result of the clutch that is installed on the car
