Times For Sc And Tc
I think comparing a stock S2000's 1/4-mile times to one that is supercharged is not a good indicator of the power difference. Look at the times between 0-120mph. Big difference. I'm talking SECONDS, not tenths.
I'm wondering what is the average joe time slip when a average joe goes to the track and drag a average joe's stock S2000. I know the average is not low 14 sec ( low mean very close 14.0). I can guarntee Vortech supercharged is ALOT faster than stock. Turbocharged is very nice indeed but it seems not many people can get it down safe, pretty fast, and reliable compared to preprogrammed supercharger kits.
Just got a vortech SC kit, so I can't comment on the TC. But the SC has plenty of gains below vtec.
TC vs SC. TC reaches peak psi lower and maintains it where as the sc is gaining till redline.
BTW the differenct between the SC and NA in this car is like 2 different monsters. In gear the car just pulls and it sounds mean too! there are very few cars on the road that will keep up with the s2k sc'ed. However on the track (drag strip which the car is not built for), the propblem I see is with shifting. The clutch in this car is not built for the power (nor is the drivetrain so upgrading the clutch is not necessarly the cure for this). I think track times are high because clutch slipping, and honestly there is a sence of having to ease into the throttle and not open it up like a NA car.
Now in real life... on the road you're moving and someone give you the nod, and you downshift to 3rd gear. there's not much that's going to keep up with you. and the shift to 4th is not bad (for me). 60 - 110 is sick!
