Default Timing belt tensioner

My wife's car (subaru Forester XT) and my S2k have a similar taping/ticking noise that is audible while accelerating. The Subaru dealer claims it is her timing belt tensioner and they are replacing it under warranty. I have read about other S2k owners replacing their tensioners to get rid of the taping as well. Is this something that Honda would cover under a warranty like Subaru did? How difficult it is to replace the tensioner?

Thanks

s2k does not have a timing belt. It has a chain, and a chain tensioner.

was your warranty claim the original warranty or an extended? I'm out of the original but still have the 100K warranty...wonder if they will cover it too.

It was under the extended warranty i think. I had the car certified when i bought it this summer, so i got 1 year of full warranty+ 7year 100k miles warranty, but i'm not sure which one was used. I didn't really care at the moment, i was happy i didn't have to pay for it.
