Default Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt Help

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up a 2001 AP1 spa yellow S2000. I chose to replace my timing chain tensioner with a balladesports unit as preventative maintenance. Unfortunately, the lower bolt hole is stripped, and the bolt won't tighten. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks!

Buy a helicoil kit and fix it.

While you're in there ditch the ballade TCT and get billmans unit.

+1.

Someone recently posted about how their Ballafe tct has damaged their timing chain, which now must be replaced. Not a small job!

Return the Ballade and get the Billman GenX TCT.

UPDATE: I used a m6 taper and bolted in the tct with an m6x30mm flange bolt + a washer from the hardware store. The original bolt is 25mm, but since the bolt hole isn't blind and is threaded through, I was able to use a slightly longer one without any worries. However, I was very careful to not overtighten the bolt at all. I stopped almost immediately after I felt resistance. I've since driven 500+ miles and no problems yet fingers crossed!

Install Billman's unit and thank God you did not have more problems with the Ballade one.
