The oil change is only temporary. Same thing with me. I changed my oil this weekend & after some spirited driving with Bill & the metro crew It's back. As the oil gets hotter you'll hear it. As it gets older you'll hear it more. Gonna try 10w 40 oil to see how long before the clicking comes back. Mine is at idle. I say that BillMan should take every one he has replaced and ship them back to Honda
Keep your oil level High or you won't have to worry about the clicking you'll be getting a new motor

Once the oil gets hot and slicker (best way to describe or lubricity), the noise comes back for me. My new tensioner is starting to make the noise more often.Billman, anything from the drawing board? How about a totally different spring?

yah so i drove 6 hrs on the highway with a few spiritted parts i between.. also drove about 2 hrs on normal streets with a few spirited parts again lol .. and no noise! safe to say that my problam was the low oil.. just wanted to ad that the noise was really not that bad in my car.. I am very particular when it comes to my cars.. so once i heard it my car sat for about 2 weeks before i was able to get the TCT .. and sat another week before i decided to change just the oil..

so again.. if u hear ANYTHING like this.. try changing the oil first! =)

The new tensioner that installed less than a year ago and about 4000 miles is starting to go bad. I would have thought that the new ones would have been improved by now. I have installed about 5 of these now on other S's and I am starting to hear the tensioners going bad on 04's now.

Ok, how often do you check your oil? I check mine once a day. The noise you heard may have been comming from your vavle train

hehe. i think i didnt check my oil for about a month because i hardly drove it.. then i drove it to west palm and then back in one day (3 hrs each way).. i honestly did not check the oil when I got back.. cuz i had JUST got an oil change a couple of weeks earlier at Honda.. this is my second car so usually i dont drive it long distances like that.. i heard the noise on my way back..i did NOT think that noise would be because of low oil.. I HOPE IT ISNT MY VALVE TRAIN!! haha.. dont think it is.. but now u make me want to get a valve adjustment.. lol .. i drove the car this past weekedn back to west palm after changing the oil MYSELF. and no noises yet.. when i got back to Olrando.. I checked my oil .. and it was still at the half way mark.. WOOHOO!

This is ridiculous. Hypothetically speaking, couldnt we claim a lemon law after 3 of the tensioners go bad??? Im going on my 4th.

Heck, I even believe my replacement one is going bad... Hasn't even been 6 months now I guess...
Mine sorta sounds like a damn diesel motor at times while idling this time...
Didn't have that noise first time around when I replaced(more like the infamous card in bicycle spoke)...
Started noticing it about 3-4 weeks ago... Performed a valve adj., but still there...
Any of ya'll get'n that noise...??
Have just over 68,000 miles on mine, MY01...

Mine is starting to go to. Not even 6 months. This is crap, I cant believe I paid this much money for this car, to continually have to change the tensioner, obviously its a flawed design on the tensioner. I wonder if calling Honda Corp would change anything. They are probably going to tell me its an installation error on my part. Billman, any updates on any new ideas??
