Default tire size help

Hey guys, i just purchased a set of rims but the tire size are 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear if i remember correctly. My main concern is a friend of mine told me that the ideal size would be 225/40/17 and 245/40/17.
the difference between 40 and 45, will it pose a problem in terms of performance, handling and appearance?
My S is also lowered with kg/mm race springs.
Do u guys see any potential problems like rubbing or camber wear? will the tires stick out and make my s look really ugly?

thanks guys

Your 225/45/17 fronts are ok, you're not too far off from stock in overall diameter. But your rears are almost a full inch too large, essentially making your gearing taller.

Two things happen from there. 1- Your top speed is higher (which you can't reach anyway without mods) 2- Your acceleration is slower.

None of this really affects whether or not your wheels stick out, that mainly deals with the offset of your rims. And I don't really know about any rubbing issues.

Hope this helps.

i can't speak for that tire size but my 225/40/18 (front) and 255/35/18 (back) were a perfect fit in the tire well and don't rub on stock suspension.

Depends on the offset and width of the wheels how much everything will stick out but I
would lose the rears. They are too tall and provide little, if any, practical benefit to the car.
