I know this is kind of thread jacking but anyone know the widest wheel you can fit in the back of an S?

Oh and speaking of people's screw up's I had a buddy who decided to buy some "high performance" kumho's for his stock '92 camry and managed to mounted all four of these directional tires backwards lol.
it depends on the offset. What are you looking for? Depending on the power 8.5 is probably the widest you want to go. 8 being optimum

^ You kidding...TONS of the choices for the S are 9" width with ~ +63 offset. Such as volks, etc. And I think some people have gone as wide as 10" in the back. Though any bigger then 9" really isn't needed at all.

9" with a 275 works well

The tire setup on the S2000 is staggered for a reason, it's called engineering.

No, the front and rear wheels on an S2000 are not the same.
it's called OVERSTEER! lol. the back wheels are wider to keep the rear end stiffer with more grip. if you run an unstaggerd setup u would have the car that has the worse snap-oversteer of all time becasue s2k's turn around pretty quickly even w/ 6.5 in the front and 7.5 in the back. actually, mine does it pretty easy w/ 7.5 and 8.5 right now. lol. but that's on all season tires

If you have a place nearby that does higher-end work, go there. It's usually about 25% more expensive, but it's worth it.

Probably because you are running non stock 225s in the rear? Just a guess.

I said optimum I did not say anything else would not fit. I said that anything past that would be too much for the vehicle unless you are running a lot of power. I am all about getting a deep dish but I was just letting him know about performance.

If you replace the rear tire it needs to have the same tread width as the S02, no the sidewall width, 225. The S02 has a really wide with when mounted to a 7.5" rim so therefore the rule of thumb is to always use a 245. however you should always call tire rack and check the tread widths.
How about you spell it out for us here, because if I go to the tire shop and tell them i want a 225/50R16, they can handle that, but if I ask for an SO2, I already know I'm gonna get that really stupid look on his face. You know, the one that looks like he is thinkin too hard, and is gonna hurt somethin in his brain.
Give us an actual tire size to go for, that the shop idiot will understand.

This happened to me a year ago, exact same thing. They quickly apologized and had me in and out in a jiffy. I just had a gut feeling they were going to screw it up.

245/45/16's should go on the back. The stock 205/55/16 is fine for the front. You can go with 225/50/16 but you'll have a little more oversteer.
