Well guys sorry to buck the "failure" trend but I've had no problems with my A2 Todas (not the parkerised ones)
However... my question to you: Did you do a before/after dyno when you installed your cams? If so, could you post it? I'd be interested to see if you actually made any power.

From the other thread, you can see that I was using the Toda SpecAv2 cams. I actually had two different flavors of them. The older one (which failed) was black (Parkerized?). The newer ones (that are still in my car) are silver. They're supposed to have the same dimensions, but obviously do not, since the new ones don't make the same power that the old ones did.
The SpecAV1 and SpecAV2 have completely different profiles.

The black ones were the SpecAV1- no longer in production for obvious reasons.

The black ones that I had were v2. IIRC, it was even stamped into the metal (I think I have a pic of that somewhere on my PC at home). From what I recall, the v1 had a low-cam profile that was better than stock, but the high-cam was the same as stock. (I'd have to dig up an old thread by Hams2000 and/or UL to verify). The v2 had an improvement on both the low & high cam lobes. The black ones that I had definitely offered an improvement over stock on both the low cam and the high cam.
However, I do agree that the black ones seem to have a different profile than the silver ones... considering the fact that I made good power with the black ones, but I make less power than stock w/ the silver ones.
If you look at the pictures of my damaged cams, I suspect that the black ones had a higher ramp speed than the stock/silver ones. The damage in one pic looks like impact damage, rather than sheer damage. To me, this would indicate that the roller rocker was jumping off the face of the cam and then crashing back into the nose of the cam lobe (even with the Toda valvesprings). So, maybe the new/silver Toda v2 cams have a lower ramp speed, to prevent this from happening. I dunno. Unfortunately, I no longer have the black cams, so I cannot measure them to compare. Maybe someone else that still has their black cams can measure them. I'd be willing to do the same for comparison.

mxt 77 I'll dig out the dyno and post but unfortunatly I only have the "after"
My understanding of the V1 V2 Mk1 differences ect was,
V1 origional ones (Black)
V2 Mk1 different profile to V1 (Black)
V2 Mk2 same profile as V2 Mk1 (silver) better hardening
V2 Mk2 (silver) had better "Hardening" on the lobes to combat the extreme wear issue.
