Default Torque multiplication and dynos

Does the effects of having gear reduction show up on a dyno graph?

I recall Ultimate Lurker saying that it is a minimal effect - just like it makes only a slight difference if you dyno in 3rd as opposed to 4th. Having different F.D. gears is like this.

It does make minimal difference - the physics is somewhat complex and not worth a detailed analysis - finding an honest dyno operatopr with consistent readings is what counts. I have found over many years of Stang and Vette tuning, that dynoing where one DID NOT buy anything yields consistent, honest results.
