Default TPMS Control Unit swap

Hey all, I have a TPMS light on my dash (2008 S2k). I went to the dealer to get an oil change and diagnose the issue and they say it's the TPMS control unit. Based on the blinking pattern of the light, from what I read online, their diagnosis makes sense. They want to charge $360 for the unit plus $140 install. I see I can buy a unit pulled off a salvage car for $30 online so I'm hoping to do the work myself, but I can't find any info on where the unit is or how to replace it. I would appreciate any guidance, thanks!

Found it on page 18-80 of the Service Manual. Ignore, thanks!

Can you please post a copy of those instructions? That would be much appreciated? I see no reason what-so-ever as to why such a unit would go bad!

You will still need to program the unit and match the sensors to the new unit. Unless you have a tpms tool to activate the sensors and a scanner to program the unit, you’re still gonna need the dealer or someone who can program it for you

Yes, that's what the service manual said. You can buy a programming tool for ~$80 so still saves money. I agree that it's more complex than just swapping the unit

Or find someone with a scan tool and tpms tool. I could do it if you’re local.

That would be great, actually. I'm in CT if you or anyone else stalking this thread is nearby. Otherwise I'll probably just go to the dealership. The tool is $100 and they're charging $140 and I doubt I'll use it again...

On my recently departed MX5 (2008 NC1) , the system automatically recognizes the new sensors after a short distance. I never had a problem with aftermarket sensors and they lasted nearly 14 years (not many miles) in grueling heat.

Why would the Honda S2000 sensors require a reset/programming? If they are all compatible Honda spec units?
