I had nochyness on 1 and 2 gear when the car was cold. I switched to Synchromesh FM and the notchyness went away for 10k miles. I believe, from what I've read, that the Synchromesh doesn't last as long as Honda. The switch was worth it for me.

Yes, it stands for "General Motors". I think that means "Holden" in Aus?

Interesting. I changed my tranny fluid with Honda MTF and the car hasnt shifted the same since. I live in Fl so i will try the redline for sure. I dont know what was in there but i think it was what came from the factory. I changed my clutch at 80k and decided to put clean tranny fluid in. My car shifted perfect before the fluid change. Now since i put Honda MTF it takes longer to shift into 3rd. I'm not happy with it at all. I will try the redline and post up. Where can you buy Redline?

you can order Redline on-line

I'm running Amsoil GL-4 gear lube and I'm very happy with it...cheaper than Redline, too

+1 for GMSFM - It may not last as long, but if you do the change yourself, just change it sooner and it doesn't matter. I prefer it to the Honda fluid in my S, but ymmv.

Well id did the change from Honda MTF to Redline and couldnt be happier. I did find out the guy i bought the car from did have redline in it when i bought it. It is amazing the difference. I can engage the gears much quicker. It's most noticable going from 2nd to 3rd
