Default Traction Control Problem 2006 S2k

I have a 2006 S2000 and my traction control wont turn off.. There is nothing on the cluster saying that it is on although whenever I try to burn out it flashes and my gas totally cuts off. I had the worst experience ever driving in the snow because I couldn't even make it up small hills due to the automatic throttle cut-off from the traction control.

I remember about two years ago, the traction control light would come on and off by itself randomly at times and sometimes the traction control would be on and other times it wouldn't. I could never control it by turning it off or on with the button by the steering wheel because whenever I press it there is no changes made. Although, over the past year the light has never turned on by itself, it only flashes whenever I am trying to burn out. The traction control now is always on and will never turn off.

Is there a special way of turning the traction control off? Like certain amount of button clicks or hold for a specified time?

I went to Honda Dealership and they told me it would take a lot of money for them to figure out what is wrong with it. They said perhaps maybe a bad traction control module which costs over $2,000.

Please let me know if there are any possible ways of turning this dang!! traction control off??

Thanks a bunch.

OP, sorry if this is a stupid question, but you are holding the button for about 3 seconds, yes? If you do that, the light will come on and stay on for a long as you have it disabled. once you press the button again, it'll activate and turn the light off. If enabled, it'll only flash when kicking in.
