Hate to to make you talk about a bad topic but...

When you say defective do you mean that your rear end was defective from the factory? Any idea how many may be defective? Should we all worry or could this just be a bad lot of diffs.?

Or are you saying that all the diffs. are inherently weak and prone to problems?

BTW - mine isn't making any sounds, but I would freak if it did right after my warranty expired.

Thanks for any insight you can provide I really appreciate you technical expertise.

Would cryo tempering the all the parts in the transmission help it hold up to high HP??? What would the weakest part of the trani be and has anyone blown one due to hp?
IMO I think the stock rearend is not suitable for high hp numbers no matter what you do to it....even with comptech reinforcement. I think if one is planning to go FI they should really look into getting a custom rearend made. I would really be interested what Chris (CJB80) is using or has done to his differential to make it not turn into jello with the power he is putting out. Chris are you there...please share!!!!

Thanks CMNSNSE....I picked up a MY02 complete running gear for dirt cheap and is now a major project of mine. Since it is not out of my car I am taking my time making sure everything is as stong as they can be. I know for the clutch I am either going with a OS Giken or a centerforce.

Reverend,

Thank you for your reply, I totally understand the agony of litigation.

I hope everything goes well, you are doing the right thing. Too many people roll over and let certain companies mistreat them. If no one stands up we all lose!

Good luck!
