Default SC potential issues for tranny and diff.?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about a supercharger, my concerns is could the extra power cause problems on the transmission and differential? are they strong enough to handle the extra HP without having problems? Has anyone seen/experienced these types of problems due to a SC or turbo?

(I don't plan to make it too powerful, but somewhere around 300WHP is good enough for me. )

Thanks in advance

Shouldn't have an issue as long as you dont launch incorrectly or anything. I have been over 300whp for 2 years and over 400whp for 1 year now. No issues at all and I get on it as much as I can. No launched or tracking it yet though.

just take it easy in 1-2 gear and the drive train should hold 500hp for a long time, u can break this stuff at stock power if u launch from a stand still

Everything should hold. Its all how about you drive the car. I got customers with our p-tuning turbo kit putting out 500+ with stock differential. So far from what I have seen no destruction yet. Like passman said tho take it easy in 1-2 and dont launch the car and you should be fine. Its all about how you transfer the shock loads to the diff. If it does go out, go for a puddy mod built diff!

Trans and diff are the weak points on this car. Anytime you introduce boost it will put more wear on these parts. But, like everyone else says, just don't launch your car and take it easy in 1st and 2nd. Do that and you should be fine up to 500whp I would say.

I've been almost a year at just over 300whp...stock tranny, stock diff...and stock clutch...and no problems other than pitting an inner CV joint cup, which happens to many if not most S2Ks.

I don't think anyone in the 300whp class has blown any drivetrain component that wasn't abusing it.

Used diffs and trannies are super-cheap, anyway, especially AP1 components.
