tranny dismantle

Default tranny dismantle

is there a certain procedure to dismantle the tranny or is it pretty self explanitory just pull the bolts....if there is a certain way where can i get it in writing?

It is not a Chevy This car is S.O.B. to do a clutch job. You will need a 2 foot ext. with swivel you will have to pull the air box, undo the A/C, steering shaft, ect. You will also have to drop the sub frame about 3 1/2" to get the trans out.
In general the job sucks
Get the manual and follow it to the T.

dismantle=take the unit itself apart.

remove=take trans out of car.

What are you looking to do?

take the unit apart i got the tranny out in 2 hours or less i can handle that it was cake i tore second gear out and wanna check out the internals possibly replace some parts and sell it or part it out...

Wow, dropping the tranny in less than 2 hours is very impressive. Is that with a lift? If not, care to post your procedure or did you use the service manual?

me and my friend did it with no lift only jackstands 15" of the ground... i used a combination of a guys procedure off of here and left out a few "unnecessary" steps .. my tranny comes in thusday so i let ya know how long it takes us to install it too..
